Reflections from Haiti--Jon Peebles

In addition to the baptism of my wife, Betty, the most memorable moment on this trip to Haiti came to me when I was helping a little girl at the orphanage make her necklace.

I realized she was just a “normal 10-year-old kid” enjoying the playtime and how happy she was. Then I stepped back and realized what type of conditions she was living in and that she may not have any food to eat her next meal. She was not just a faceless statistic that somebody else may support. She had gone hungry before.

While we cannot feed everyone, we are making a commitment to help feed her. I pray that she will be blessed.
