Endeavor recently welcomed a team of students from Saint Ambrose University’s College of Professional Studies who were working on a teambuilding project. The students at St. Ambrose hosted a teamwork building project that was tailored just for our students.
Each student was passed one of 38 related pictures. The rules were simple: show your card to no one and figure out how they are all related. The mutiny that ensued next was overwhelming. Everyone started talking at once and nobody was functioning as a team.
Then, one of the Endeavor students stood on a chair and started calling out instructions to each other. Within just a few minutes, they were listening to each other and jumping in to help others. It only took a few minutes for the teams to start functioning. The Endeavor students were starting to work together to solve the problem in front of them.
The students from St. Ambrose said it took their class (a 300-level Team Management course) almost an hour to figure out the problem. The Endeavor students figured it out within 20 minutes! Our students proved that anything is possible (even beating the time of college students!).
