We know that in today’s world, families are stressed out with all of the business of life. We also know that an additional meeting time in any given week or adding another item to the to-do list can make reviving the world feel like more of a burden and less like a privilege. So, we started in 2013 with a desire to give children in our 10:30 AM Kid Start program a regular opportunity to revive the world DURING our time together.
Like any good husband, I began asking my wife for her thoughts. We committed to a once-a-month revive project for the kids during our Kid Start time. So long ago, God placed moms with unexpected pregnancies on our hearts. We checked with Pregnancy Resources and they requested baby blankets for newborns.
Our project was a go! Ruth gathered fleece material in kid friendly designs for boys and girls at Wal-Mart. Then, she cut the strips on the sides of each blanket (about 20 on each side) to prepare one for each Kid Start kid!
On, January 19th, we taught the kids how to tie the knots to make baby blankets. The older kids helped the younger ones and in 30 minutes all the blankets were done! It was a great morning not just talking about how loving Jesus means loving others but actually putting it into practice with the kids!
Our Kid Start children used this project to bless many newborn babies and their families!
