Seeking & Finding A Church Home

by Jenny Papers, Parishioner

Before Gary and I were married at Christ Church, we were seeking out a church to become married in. In deciding on a church we also wanted that church to be the church where we would become long-time members and raise a family. This was a big decision for us as we were both young adults, barely out of college. We wanted to find a place where we felt welcome. We only attended a few services before we knew Christ Church was that place. The sermons were meaningful and had a lasting effect on us.

People reached out to us, welcomed us and made us feel from the beginning that we were part of their family. It is with great joy that we have raised our family here.

I was faced with some major challenges and felt fear and loneliness. I prayed to God to show me the way. I had driven by Christ Church many times but now the idea of attending Christ Church came strongly to me.

I felt this was a new beginning. I was welcomed into the church and began attending regularly. The sermons enlightened me. I started to really read and study the Bible and joined a small group Bible study. I now give all my concerns to God and reach out to the prayer chain when in need. My life became enriched with friends that became a second family to me. I thank God every day for leading me on this pathway.
