One of the best things at our church is our small group ministry. Over the past couple of months, we’ve been taking a journey to find out who God is, who we are and where we are going as the church. Our small groups just completed a Bible study that aligned with the weekly messages.
We gathered groups and anyone else interested for a night of celebrating our ministry and looking forward to what’s next for Christ Church. Simply told, groups sat together, ate together and thought about the future together. It was an evening of exploring where the next 50 years is taking us. The pure excitement in the room was something to be felt.
We brainstormed for an hour and a half (with some delicious food mixed in) and took fervent notes to help shape the vision of our church. The notes are being pored over by the Joel Council (our lay-leader team) and they’ll be bringing action items before the Church Council before too long.
It was an evening of celebration and visioning. The voices were loud and clear—we need to invite others alongside us to participate in our discipleship process. We are a congregation that is blessed with many ideas and strong unity.
