In the 50 years that Christ Church has been around many hundreds of people have come through our doors looking for a church home. They fall in love with our church because there are three behaviors ingrained in our church culture:
First, we offer a church where the word of God is preached; a place where they can find out how God wants them to live their lives; a place where they can meet Jesus and make Him their Lord and Savior. Second, we offer a place where they and their family are welcomed. Most are looking for true Christian friends who will stick by them in good times or in bad, and friends that they can help when times are tough or celebrate with when times are good.
And third, ours is church that will give the tools and opportunity to spread the gospel of Jesus, make disciples for Him, and reach out and transform a hurting world. People want a place where they can serve.
As we go forward and begin our next 50 years we must insure that Christ Church continues to meet these three needs. We want it to continue to be a place where people can EXPERIENCE our God through the whole of worship. We want Christ Church to be a place where we can DEVELOP relationships, friendships, and families. Finally, we want our building and community to be a base from which we can, in the name of Christ, REVIVE our church, our city, nation, and world.
These behaviors, our mission, have been a part of 50 years of growth… Now, as Psalm 145:4 (NLT) says “Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts.” We must pledge ourselves to take these words beliefs, and actions FORWARD.
