At Endeavor, our focus with the students is living out the mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. The students live this out each week by experiencing God’s love through worship led by the youth praise band, developing relationships with others through fellowship during meal times and in their Endeavor small groups. They are always encouraged to go out and revive the world and we especially like to work on projects that revive the world together.
Wednesday November 15th was one of those nights where the youth served in different ways at our Family Worship Night (see the Children’s Ministry article about Family Worship Nights). Some assisted with the children’s crafts, others served the Thanksgiving-style meal and all of Endeavor’s students worked to fill the Thanksgiving food boxes for 15 Buchanan Families.
During Advent, small groups from Endeavor are heading to ring the bells for Salvation Army from 6-7PM on Wednesday nights. One group of ringers discovered the best way to get donations is to sing joyfully for the Hy-Vee customers.
Wednesday, December 13, our theme was “Reviving for Kids” as the youth worked on a variety of projects for children in our church and community.
Another group of young people have been meeting monthly to start preparing for the Ohio Mission Trip which will be June 17-23. This is an exciting opportunity and there is still room for other students in 6th-12th grade to join the trip.
We are also looking forward to new ways of reviving the world in 2018, so let me know if you have a project idea for Endeavor. You can reach me at 563.391.5488 x 236.
