2-0-1-8 of Endeavor Student Ministry

As we start a brand new year, I thought it would be great to remember some of the experiences of Endeavor during 2017 and also look ahead to the awesome year God has in store for the student ministry at Christ Church.

Endeavor was blessed to have TWO talented youth interns, Faith Popovich and Dillon Fawcett to lead the students of Christ Church the past couple of years. Faith ministered to the senior high students and Dillon Fawcett’s focus was with the middle schoolers. During their leadership, this student ministry not only grew in numbers, but the youth grew in their faith.

In May, the youth were able to send off Dillon as he began the next step in his ministry journey with a summer internship at Marion Methodist. We continue to pray for him with his pursuit at college/seminary and as he gets married in 2018.

In August, we celebrated Faith graduating college and stepping into the new world of “adulting.” Endeavor has been blessed that this wasn’t goodbye since Faith has continued to lead a small group of middle school girls at Endeavor. We are so excited that Faith is not only here on Wednesday nights, but she is an emcee for Modern worship and is active in an adult small group.

ZERO days without a leader for Endeavor. God’s timing was perfect that as Faith and Dillon finished their time as Christ Church youth interns, Bishop Laurie appointed Pastor James and me to serve here. It has brought me great joy to be able to join those who started Endeavor Student Ministry and hopefully continue making student disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

ONE amazing God that we get to praise and worship. Sunday mornings, we have three opportunities to experience God’s love. The presence of the Holy Spirit can be felt at both the Modern Worship at 8:30 AM or 10:45 AM and the Traditional Service at 9:30 AM. Each Wednesday night after supper, Endeavor starts off right with worship led by an amazing Youth Praise Team under the leadership of Ryan Sloan. This past fall, we took worship to a new level during the Endeavor Fall Retreat.

We have never seen such un-abandoned, heart-felt worship by these young people as we did that weekend.
