VBS has come and gone! We had an amazing week with 58 students and 31 volunteers. Kids learned when you’re lonely, worry, struggle, do wrong, and are powerless… Jesus rescues!!
Each day started and ended with singing and dancing then kids moved through four rotations: Bible Discovery, Imagination Station, Snack/Haiti Share, and Games.
During Bible Discovery kids learned five different Bible stories. On Monday, kids learned three parables about lost things. On Tuesday, the story of Mary and Martha. On Wednesday, Jesus getting taken in the garden of Gethsemane. On Thursday, Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection. On Friday, Peter and John healing a man. Imagination Station is a science-filled craft. The week was filled with flying objects and learning about friction, Morse code, and air pressure!
At Snacks and Haiti Share, kids were given tasty treats and heard how Christ Church partners with Haiti. Two Haiti missionaries spoke to the students about their mission and cultural experience in Haiti. In the middle of the week, kids packed 16 Christmas for Haiti bags. Although our participants are young, they too can revive the world!
The final station was games. The week of Vacation Bible School was warm -- so the water games were a huge hit!
We ended our week with a party -- a block party!! We had over 150 people show up for the kids! There was food, music, outdoor lawn games, and of course the big bouncy house. It was a great time celebrating a week of God’s goodness and learning about Jesus.
Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped before, during, and after VBS week!
